Plain languageThese terms describe the basic rules for using SoapIndex. They are written to make the current product contract explicit, not to bury it in vague language.
In plain terms
- Use SoapIndex for soap making — that’s what it’s for.
- You own your recipes. We just store them for you.
- Don’t abuse the service or upload content you don’t own.
- Always verify lye calculations before making soap.
Using the service
You may use SoapIndex to research ingredients, create and store recipes, and access related educational and workflow tools. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and for how you use the output.
Acceptable use
- Do not abuse the service, probe for unauthorized access, or disrupt availability.
- Do not upload unlawful content or content you do not have rights to use.
- Do not rely on SoapIndex as a substitute for legal, medical, or regulated compliance advice.
Your content and recipe data
You retain ownership of the recipe content and data you create in SoapIndex. The service needs permission to store, process, back up, and export that data so the product functions as intended.

Service limits
SoapIndex is provided on an evolving basis. Features may change, and some product areas may be in beta. We aim for accuracy and reliability, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or error-free content.
Safety and responsibility
Soap making involves hazardous materials. You remain responsible for verifying calculations, following safe handling practices, and using appropriate protective equipment. Review the Safety Guide before working with lye.
